Power of Invention

It’s been delayed by a year, but we’re thrilled to finally be able to invite you to the gardens of Soho House – home of Brum’s greatest entrepreneur, ‘Mr B’ – otherwise known as Matthew Boulton.

Our brand new site-specific show will introduce you to his friends in the Lunar Society – the eccentric mix of personalities who stoked the Enlightenment and inspired everything from fizzy water to public riots.

Enjoy a picnic with these ‘lunaticks’ and discover how their lives shaped our own. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drink – or why not save yourself the trouble and order a picnic box with your ticket?

The show features an outstanding all-female cast of the RSC’s Katy Stephens, Adaya Henry, Itasha James and Simran Kular, and lasts approximately 1 hour, with a maximum of 45 tickets per performance, so there’ll be plenty of room to socially distance. In keeping with the theme of the show, we’ll be abiding by the latest scientific advice. If you have any questions please email boldtextcollective@gmail.com

The box contains a chilled slice of stone-baked double-pepperoni and chicken marinaded in Cajun spices OR Margherita pizza and sweet potato falafel balls (vegetarian option), plus Mediterranean vegetable and houmus tart, mixed salad, a cupcake and a bottle of still water.

We’ll be posting regular updates about the characters featured in the play, our cast, and the rest of the creative team. Read our latest news HERE or follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
