We’re thrilled to reveal Jennifer Davis as our director for Gem of a Place, opening in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter on the 9th of September.
Hailing from Coventry, Jen is a Junior Associate at the King’s Head Theatre and Women and Theatre’s Lead Artist Practitioner. She works with writers, theatre makers and performers to produce work which celebrates live performance and reflects the world we live in. Her work is honest, collaborative and open whilst genuinely responsive and representative.
Directing credits include: Club Carmen (Streetwise Opera), protests, hymns and caskets (Belgrade Theatre), A Haunting (Belgrade Theatre, VAULT Festival and King’s Head Theatre); (sorry) (Birmingham REP and Assembly, Edinburgh Fringe Festival) Adam & Eve (Hope Theatre) and Cheetah Sisters (Belgrade Theatre and Birmingham REP). Associate directing credits include: Faith (RSC and Coventry City of Culture Trust) Strangers in Between (King’s Head Theatre and Trafalgar Studios). In 2014, Jen founded Shoot Festival, an organisation which supports early career artists making work in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Joining Jen as our Community Cast Director is The Rep’s Resident Assistant Director, Alice Chambers. Recent credits include: Uncommon Riches (Young Rep), Little Amal (The Walk), Sky Comedy Rep Festival (Studio), and Albatross (Playground Theatre).
