Introducing our brilliant stage manager Lauren Wood.
Lauren graduated from the Birmingham School of Acting in Stage Management and has been working in the industry for over 4 years. Lauren has worked across many Birmingham theatres working on various productions ranging from Musicals, Opera, Plays and Pantomime productions. Before the Covid-19 Pandemic, Lauren was an Assistant Stage Manager on the Les Misérables UK & International Tour, and will be returning to the UK & Ireland Tour towards the end of this year.
“My passion for theatre started from a very young age when I began performing onstage, throughout my school years I studied drama at GCSE and Double Performing Arts at A-Level and I couldn’t picture myself doing anything else. My extra curriculum outside of school was filled with Dance rehearsals, Theatre Rehearsals and Musical Theatre. I made the leap to backstage and stage management when I earned a place at the Birmingham School of Acting, now known as the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and have never looked back.
I am very excited and grateful to be working on the Power of Invention, it’s the first time since Lockdown began in March 2020 that I am able to work on a production with an audience, I have truly missed the magic of live theatre and all its beauty. The joy that comes from theatre, is the reason I love what I do and I am thrilled that the industry is able to get back on its feet after an incredibly tough year.”
